I’m not what you would call a ‘normal’ Christian (just check out the picture of the type of people I hang out with)…in fact, I’m not ‘normal’ anything. I don’t follow the latest…anything. But I do follow God. The God of the Bible. Nor am I perfect. Just ask anyone who knows me. But I am going to be perfect someday. Not of my own doing…it’s all because of Jesus.
So here we are in the second millennium after the birth of Christ. In case you haven’t noticed, the world (at least, the “civilized” world) is falling apart. Things are changing rapidly, and, I must admit, this isn’t the country that I (and my forefathers before me) remember it being or what it once stood for. There was a time when the Bible meant something to our country. Now we have a generation that could care less about anything that that Bible has to say. I just want to do my part for God and Country to lift up what is true. To talk about America and the God Who gave us our freedom. To stand in the gap…regardless of who is standing with me.
I was raised by my grandparents in a small Midwestern town across the river from St. Louis and went to Sunday School every Sunday. It was there that I fell in love with Jesus. But, like every thing else in life, that love affair has had its ups and downs. I spent twenty-two years in the drug culture and survived that ordeal solely by the grace of God. Now, I write for Him…my first Christian sci-fi (or as I like to say “Chri-fi”) novel published in 2011 titled HILL OF GREAT DARKNESS… and I preach and teach for Him as well as do speaking engagements in the St.Louis area. I have spent time as a pastor as well as a youth pastor, and I currently work at a distribution site that helps cover the free world with Hershey chocolate..and doing that being a chocoholic as well (ain’t God cool!!!).
You can catch me on my Facebook pages Henry Martin, H.C. Beckerr, and HILL OF GREAT DARKNESS.
