ISRAEL…..Who? Part 2 Ownership of the land; The set-up

12 tribes 1
So, once upon a time there was this guy named Abraham. He was really, REALLY wanting to have a son to give his inheritance to.
BUT……….
There was a problem.
His wife Sarah couldn’t have a baby. So…………………………………
Sarah let her husband have her maidservant (and I mean ‘have’ in the Biblical sense) and she became pregnant…..
From there begins the first recorded soap opera……….
An ongoing soap opera that continues to this day that we live in.
A deadly soap opera.
You see, Hagar (that refers to Sarah’s handmaid…not to a rocker named Sammy) had a son.
Abraham’s son….
named Ishmael.
Now, Ishmael was a decent kiddo and Abraham loved him…a whole lot!
In fact, Abraham and God were talking one day and Abraham asked God to let Ishmael be the heir to all he had.

God said, “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son…I will establish my covenant with him…”
So, when Abraham was a hundred years old his wife Sarah (who was no spring chicken either) gave birth to Isaac.
Okay, the soap opera continues………..
As Isaac grew, his mom Sarah saw his half-brother, Ishmael, scoffing at him and ended up banishing Ishmael and his mother Hagar (again…not Sammy) to the desert to find a life for themselves.
Now, Abraham wasn’t too hip on the idea but God told him to let them go.
Oh!!!! By the way…before we go any further with this little story, let’s take a gander at some of the things that God (also the Angel of the Lord) had told Abraham about his son Ishmael;
“I will make him a great nation….
He shall be a wild man,
His hand shall be against every man and every man’s hand against him,
and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren……..
I have blessed him…….
make him fruitful (um….lots of children)
he shall beget twelve princes (now this part is really interesting; twelve just like Israel, hmmm….)”
Ishmael went on to be the father of the Arab nations.
The Bible so much as says so…they are called the Ishmaelites

police
If you would ask almost any member of the police force what is the most dangerous situation they thought that they could ever find themselves in, what do you think would be their answer?
Bank robbery?
Hostage situation?
High-speed car chase?
Nope.
Family Disputes are what tops the list.
One never knows what to expect when the heart is involved….passions flare.
They know a bank robber is the bad guy…same with hostage takers…
In a family dispute one never knows who is going to explode.

So I gotta ask the question.
What is all this war in the Middle-East really all about?
m.e.v.2
It really is a whole lot simpler than most people think.
If Abraham is the father of Ishmael,

therefore the Arab nations claim Abraham as Father……………..
And…………………………………………..
If Abraham is the father of the Jews…….
m.e.v 3
C’mon now….y’all should be seeing this…..
The Arabs and the Jews are HALF-BROTHERS.
The whole Mid-East crises takes on a brand new meaning as two brothers are fighting for the inheritance of their father.
All the land over there belongs to one of them…….
I say it belongs to the Jews….
And I’ll tell you why next week!

Meanwhile, read the story of Ishmael and Isaac’s beginnings; Genesis 16-21:21
